We Come With Easy Ways To Lighten Your Hair Naturally- Part 1

You Can Lighten Up Even Without Damaging Your Hair

A few signs of summer are fabulous sundresses, sandals, as well as spritzers, whereas as it comes to beauty, it is more specifically hair, and what is your opinion about it? It is all about braids, beachy waves, and of course lighter hair. While it is not as easy as it used to be to go to the salon, but stylists mainly suggest a salon visit for the big colour change like bleaching the hair as well as going more than a few shades lighter in a short time. As Angela Soto hairstylists and owner of Baja Studio salon in New York city opines, the risk is about over-processing the hair thereby increasing breakage and making the hair orange.

There are natural ways to lighten hair at home for more subtle changes without bleach and some with household or pantry ingredients you may already have on hand. Based on your current hair colour, just be aware of the results you can achieve as with a natural blonde, DIY treatments help lighten the shade around the face or on the ends according to Steven Picciano a Goldwell Nationalist Artist. He further explains that in case of darker hair, like dark brown it is the best result expecting a warmer, softer version of what you have.

Picciano says keep in mind that the previously coloured hair is not set to lighten using anything other than bleach with many at-home kits lightening your hair at home with bleach and for that remember to follow the instructions on the box and precisely stay within two shades of the colour.

As one last note, all the experts give it a hard no when it comes to spritzing good old Sun-In whereas your teenage self may be loving it. Soto warns that it is sure to make hair orange and brassy that is very hard to correct.

In case you are ready to lighten up, here come the easy six DIY ways to lighten the hair at home even without damage using natural ingredients like lemon juice, vinegar, honey, and more.

You Can Use Lemon Juice To Lighten The Strands

As the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, then better lighten and brighten the hair. As Karen Conlon, the senior colourist at Salon Artique in Smithtown, NY, suggests lemon juice is surely an easy at-home hack to lighten the hair. As it can create brassy orange tones in hair, Conlon adds if you are a brunette this may not be the best option. Here is what she advises for blondes.

Firstly, fill the bowl with lemon juice and dipping the clean mascara wand or a spoolie brush into it painting it onto strands.

After 15 to 30 minutes, wash it out with shampoo and use conditioner all over the hair.

For this Picciano comes with another technique for this kitchen staple which is

You should combine two parts water and one part lemon juice in the spray bottle applying it to damp hair. He further explains that it is possible to lighten the hair one to two levels needing a good day in the sun to work as it helps increase the acidity of the citrus fruit to lighten hair as the sun rays do.

Furthermore, as lemon juice can be drying use the deep conditioner on strands afterward.

For Better Results, Make A Lightening Hydrogen Peroxide And Baking Soda Paste

To lighten hair one to two shades, Jessica Scott Santo the owner of Jessica Scott Hair in Sciota, Pennsylvania suggests combining these two ingredients into a paste and before applying the mixture to the whole head, it is better to do a strand test recommended by Santo because hydrogen peroxide may result in hair damage or dryness. Here’s how to move forward if all goes well.

She advises to combine one cup baking soda with three tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide and applying the paste to a small section of hair letting it sit. Pay attention to how much time it took to reach the desired level of lightness checking the results every 10 to 15 minutes

Further on Sciota says it is better to leave the paste on like a mask for 30 to 60 minutes maximum depending on the darkness of your hair as the length of the time the solution took to process on the hair determines how light the person’s hair will lift.

When your hair has reached the desired shade, shampoo out following up with a nourishing conditioner or the hair mask thereby giving strands a moisture boost.
