Is There Any Possibility That Botox Can Be Taken Out?

Botox is just not effective but is a wonder drug. Helping revive the skin, it is surely the find of the millennium for aging skin. The reasons cited here are many.

Is There Any Possibility That Botox Can Be Taken Out?

What Happens When Botox Is Removed?

It cannot be removed when it comes to Botox and the latest entry in the muscle paralysant field, Dysport. As they paralyse the muscle responsible for the pleating of the skin which manifests as lines and wrinkles, these are medications that are absorbed into the tissue and are effective in reducing wrinkles, smiles, and squint lines. Between the eyebrows and the vertical frown lines, it is particularly effective. Allowing the portion of the eyebrows to be elevated mimicking the effect of a forehead and brow lift, it helps erase horizontal forehead lines and can do even when judiciously injected.

It cannot be neutralised once the effect is achieved. Here comes no antidote.

One can decide whether or not they are satisfied with them and feel the expenditure is worth it because they are temporary which comes as one of the nice things about these medications. Lasting between four to six months are these. As their muscles are bulkier, men generally require larger doses.

As they fill a role that cannot be filled by surgery, chemical skin peeling or laser treatments, Botox, and Dysport have been very welcomed by the cosmetic surgery community. Botox and Dysport provide one function whereas fillers provide another. A filler is not a muscle paralysant as some people think their roles are interchangeable and vice versa.

Is There Any Reason To Frown?

Made from the single most poisonous substance known, Botox is made from a very small dose of botulinum toxin. While the fact is that the toxin comes from the soil, whereas it can be ingested through food that comes in contact with contaminated dirt. Preventing victims from being able to breathe on their own, the poison paralyzes muscles.

It can be both time-consuming and a strain on hospital resources when it comes to diagnosis and treatment of botulism. In its list of agents of concern, Gigi Kwik, Ph.D., a fellow for the Johns Hopkins Centre for Civilian Biodefense Strategies says this is the reason why the CDC has labelled the toxin as a Category A substance. Smallpox and anthrax are the other agents included in Category A.

Considering the botulinum toxin as a potentially major bioweapons threat is the John Hopkins centre. The chances that it could be used as a biological weapon are slim as Kwik readily points out that there is an extremely tiny amount of the poison in Botox.

Kwik who notes the Botox is not the only place in the world where one could get a hold of the toxin says that unfortunately when you envision all kinds of threats that come from everywhere then you have to look at something more likely. If they weren’t to use Botox anybody who was going to make it as a weapon would have a much easier time as he continues.

As Experts Comment On The Use Of Botox

Saying it takes precautions to safeguard the drug as it does with all its other products, is Botox maker Allergan.

Allergan spokeswoman Christine Cassiano says the company is now in talks with the agency regarding the treatment of forehead lines and crow’s feet whereas in terms of cosmetic use, thereby FDA has now only approved Botox for treatment mainly of the brow furrow as well as the vertical crease that is frequently seen between the eyebrows.

More than just facial remedies is the company pitching it yet. On the drug’s effect on stroke injuries, Allergan is now completing a US study. Botox relaxes clenched hands and other muscles that may have been injured after a stroke as research has reportedly found. Including Canada and a good portion of Europe, Cassiano says the medicine is approved for such use in 23 countries.

Giving its formal nod to use Botox for sweaty palms also called palmar hyperhidrosis, Canada is also one of the nearly dozen countries.
Allergan expects to file for approval as US studies are now underway.
Working on using the drug for migraine headaches and back pain is the earlier stage development. Until later, Cassiano estimates that the company probably will not be able to file for approval for treatments of headaches.

Wrapping Up The Discussion

Conducting a study on the effectiveness of Botox in preventing migraine headaches was Stephen Silberstein, MD, FACP, professor of neurology and director of the Thomas Jefferson University Headache Centre in Philadelphia. Botox was found to significantly reduce migraine frequency and severity and use of migraine medication in his research published in a journal called Headache. Cutting down on migraine-related vomiting is also the research.

As he says they know its effective whereas they can’t predict for which patients which is why he is setting up another nationwide study on Botox and its effects for migraine headaches.

Botox potentially relieves pain associated with many ailments such as serious bladder problems, haemorrhoid surgery, and cerebral palsy as other studies have found.
