What Did Researchers Find Out?

Max and colleagues looked at hair samples from volunteers whose hair had been bleached blond using their new technique. Why hair becomes rough and unmanageable, they found two reasons. 

Mechanical damage to hair raises scaly projections on individual hairs as they found out. Creating friction as they slide past other hairs, these scales jut out sideways from the hairs. Often the result is that it comes hard to comb as the hair that’s rough to the touch. 

They say hair products must contain ingredients that smooth out the scales to cut back this problem. 

They build up negative electrical charges as the researchers also found that when hair fibres interact. Making hair repulsive is as the same charges repel one another. Making hair rough and hard to comb is again friction results. 

Adding positively charged polymers to hair products to neutralise the negative charges is rinsing out the problem means. 

It comes to be not easy to solve the bad-hair-day problem according to BASF scientist Claudia Wood, Ph.D. Including humidity, the water content of each hair, and hair stickiness are lots of other things contributing to hair problems.
